Lavender & Lace

This has to be one of my favorites to date -- which I usually say about every wedding cake I make! The cake was white Russian with tiramisu filling-- Yum! It was covered with tinted lavender colored white chocolate, ribbon was dark chocolate and the applique was white chocolate. The lace work was created with royal icing. Pearl dragees were also added to mimic some of the detail work that the bride had on her wedding dress. Love, love the color combination!!

Marra

This cake was for a 40th birthday party for a woman who travels a great deal and is also a producer for stage productions. So theater had to be the theme of the cake. Most of the free standing design elements were created out of fondant and painted with luster dust. The birthday girl no longer lives in the area but wanted to take the cake back with her so we created it out of a cake dummy (Styrofoam rounds) covered with fondant. I take that as a hugh compliment! : ) Pink champagne cake with vanilla bean buttercream was supplied as a secondary cake for eating.
